I don’t have many discussion topics yet so I figured I’d add one on a topic that is near and dear to my heart (or to say it another way, a topic I am stubborn about). It’s the debate about if Serif or Sans-Serif is a better choice for on the web. I know it’s a debate for print media as well, but only rare ocassions do I pick up an actual paper magazine or newspaper so I don’t really care about that debate as much as the usage on the web debate.
Well I said I was going to keep the personal posts to a minimum but this was so weird I just had to share it. So I went to visit my parents for Father’s Day, but because of all the flooding the roads I normally take were closed, so I had to go waaaaay out of my way coming back. So here I am cruising along a back country road and up ahead at the top of a little hill I see a peacock crossing the road.
So the place where I work has a small library and for some reason they have one of those ladders that attaches to the top shelf of the bookcase and glides along in a track. You know like in Beauty and the Beast? (which is weird because the shelves aren’t full by any means, but whatever).
So ever since I first saw it I’ve wanted to “ride” on it by standing on it flying down the wall. Well I was at work rather late a couple days ago so I decided to try it since no one was really around!!!
Well… it turns out the safety people or engineers or whoever they are were all against me. Apparently the top part of it has a special locking mechanism so that whenever you stand on the ladder it locks into place. So it can’t move at all. And if you try to push it and then jump on it, it stops on a dime. THANKS A LOT GUYS FOR CRUSHING MY DREAMS!!!

Description: I’ve been trying to make more icons lately but was getting frustrated at the lack of little “fun” brushes I could find for using on them. So I made these - usually I clump them in a corner in various colors and put the text I want on top of them. It sounds ugly but it actually works out okay.

Description: Another set of brushes I took on my trip. These ones though are less detailed and are more for use as textures for grunge walls. They are rather large in size as I intended them to be used on wallpaper backgrounds.
